Susan (snapapple) > November 18, Saturday - I got out the tripod and tried this shot again. The flower came out sharper this time. There was not a lot of light, so there was not much depth of field, but I focused on the center of the flower and that's nice and sharp. There was some light in the background and I like that some of the leaves are visible. Makes it look a little more natural than it did with a totally black background. I guess I like different things on different days. If you like the dark background, I did take another one without light behind it. You choose. Susan (snapapple) > September 4 - Orchid - I had to experiment with the aperture to get the top buds (farthest away)in focus in the low light. I finally used a flash with a paper towel as diffuser. I hate using flash up close. I love the thin delicate red things in the centers.
Susan (snapapple) > August 31 - Orchids in Mist - I have this shot on a plain black background. It's nice and sharp and looks good, but seems ordinary. I added the mist to make it different.
