Susan (snapapple) > Calendula, Pot Marigold - winter annual

A Mediterranean native that provides sure easy color from late fall through spring in mild winter areas. It will reseed itself to come back year after year. Although it does well in pots, the common name is actually derived from the plant's earlier use as a "pot herb" - a vegetable to be used in the cooking pot. It has long, narrow leaves, slightly sticky and aromatic.

On this January morning many of the flowers were beaten down by the rain from the previous night. This one caught my eye as it was one of the few to catch the morning light.

Susan (snapapple) > March 22 - This is a clematis flower. It grows on a small vine in my yard. We had a few occasions of sun today with lots of clouds and a thundershower in the late afternoon. I'm glad I got out early in the morning to take this shot.

Susan (snapapple) > Tree Drops - The cottonwood tree, with it's heart shaped spinning leaves, was sparkling in the sun. I wanted to capture it's reflection in the mirrored table below. I thought the water drops would give the image perspective and make it obvious that it was a reflection. When I focused in close, I was surprised to see all the tiny reflections in the drops.
