Our trip to Vermont started with a cross country plane ride from San Diego in Mid-October. Our goal was to do a little "leaf-peeping" and to search out a few historic covered bridges.
It was a long day of flying and my fellow travelers napped or read to pass the time.
Passing over the desert, the view resembles a moonscape.
Flying over the Salton Sea in the desert.
As we approached Hartford, CT we got our first view of the beautiful green trees touched with Fall color.

We drove from Hartford, CT to Brattleboro VT where we spent the night. The next morning we began our leisurly drive west on SR 9 and then north on SR 100. From an overlook, we had a nice view of the valley dotted with color.
Beautiful Fall color as far as the eye can see.
The trees come in many colors.
This view of the tree tops reminds me of a colorful quilt.
