Southampton, England is our first port of call on our trans Atlantic Cruise on Princess Cruiselines. With only one day in port at Southampton, it was hard to decide on a tour. We chose The New Forest drive and Exbury Gardens which were in the peak of spring bloom. Another time we will have to visit London, Stonehenge or Corfe Castle. As we enter the harbor in Southampton, the sun is just rising with a mist of fog. No filters or photoshop were added to this image. This is the color of the sunrise on the fog exactly as it looked that morning from the rail of the ship.
The sunrise over the ocean. The sun is getting up a little higher and the mist is thinning as we continue our entry into Southampton harbor.
Beautiful homes line the waterway as we enter the harbor at Southampton. The morning sun is still casting a golden glow.
The Queen Mary 2 is berthed here in Southampton. We pass her on our way into port.
A large cruise ship is being pulled by a tiny tug as it prepares to to depart. I took this picture through the window of the buffet dining room as we ate breakfast.

After a beautiful drive past New Forest, the largest area of woodland in England, we arrive at Exbury Gardens. The huge variety and spectacular display of color is breathtaking.
Jack takes a short rest on a bench in the gardens.
Here I am in front of a massive display of azalias. The weather was quite chilly, but we were actually very comfortable as the sun came out in midday.
