Day 4 of the cruise is spent "at sea" with plenty of time to dress for the first "formal night". Day 5 we visit "The Acropolis," and day 6 we anchor off Santorini island.

The Parthenon, dedicated to the goddess Athena, the patroness of Athens. It is built in the Doric style. Today is a Sunday, hot and humid and the place is swarming with tourists.
The Caryatides, or Maidens, is the south Portico of the Erechtheion. It features six statues of beautiful girls with baskets on their heads.
The theatre of Dionysus on the southern slope of the Acropolis. Stone work dates from the 4th century B.C.
Monday, September 1, we arrive at the island of Santorini, Greece at 7 a.m. We anchor off the island and are transferred by tender to the island. In the dense fog we travel blind. As our tender approaches the island we realize that we missed the dock by quite a distance and go back along the coastline until we reach it.
A view of the sea as we head up to the village of Pyrgos. The fog is beginning to lift and we can see the curve of land that circles the caldera.
A quarry. The island possesses a unique mineral for the production of high quality cement.
